Maia Estianty finally won her court battle to look after her children

Well known Indonesian Artist/Singer Maia Estianty won her court battle to look after her three children, Al, El and Dul after she seek her divorce from another Artist/Singer Ahmad Dhani, leader of the Dewa Musical Band. The High Court ruling was announced in coincidence with her 33rd birthday which occured on tuesday, January 27th, 2009. This was really a happy borthday present, eventhough her three children were not with her because her ex-husband kept them away from her for already a few months.

The reason for the court ruling was that her ex-husband legal counsel did not obtain the legal appointment to represent him at the court proceeding at Jakarta High Court. However her ex-husand Ahmad Dhani still has the opportunity to go to the Indonesian Highest Court to ask for reconsideration of their case. According to Ahmad Dhani legal cousel, many of the legal facts were not considered by the Jakarta High Court when they made the ruling.

Maia Estianty’s legal counsel said that this new ruling means that Maia has the rights to look after her three children again, after baing taken away from her for sometime. We hope that she would be looking after her children to become three young and succesful children in the future.
